I'll be blunt, I grew up on the early days of the show, when sometimes my local PBS affiliate would sometimes show the same episode for an entire week. It gets old at some point. That IS the point, someday, you won't need Sesame Street anymore, but it will enter the field of nostalgia. Watching it now with my kids, I'm falling in love with it all over again. Elmo is good (who did not exist in my childhood), but he also has spirit, he is no one's patsy. One thing about this show is that they are always researching, always testing, always looking for ways to make this show better for each new generation of kids. Puppeteers, writers, Hoopers may come and go, but that care is always there, and it shows. Respect for its audience.
